First, set up a provider account following this guide.
On the 'Profile' page (accessible through user icon on top navigation menu), go to the 'Settings' section and click on 'Prescription' button to open the prescription settings page.
On the prescription settings page, you have a few settings that you can configure:
Speech recognition language: you can choose the language you converse in with patients.
'Multilingual' offers high accuracy in a mixed language setting, i.e. where multiple languages are being spoken, and is generally the recommended option if Indic languages are involved.
Choosing 'English' could be useful if you want to transcribe long conversations (over 10 minutes) spoken entirely in English - it could give faster results in these cases.
'Multilingual' option may take 50-60s to transcribe an hour of audio, single language option may take 10-15s.
Prescription Schema: you can edit the default schema that is used on the prescription page. The schema tells the app what details you want in the prescription and under what titles. The app then reads the transcript and extracts this information to generate the prescription. The rules of the schema are mentioned here.
Letterhead configuration: if you use a letterpad for printing prescriptions, you can specify the page size and margins here. The app will generate prescription respecting these configurations, when the letterhead version is chosen. The default value is shown if you don't specify.
if you print only on one side of the page, uncheck 'Two-sided printing'. This will ensure that headers and footers such as provider and patient details and metadata are printed on every page instead of every other page.
most letterheads already contain the care provider's details, in which case you would want to uncheck the 'Include provider details' option to avoid double printing of details.
if you use pages that are pre-filled with patient information, you would want to uncheck then 'Include patient details' option to avoid double printing of details.
if you do not want to print the details of the presciption as saved on Mercurie, uncheck the 'Include document metadata' option. Printing metadata makes it easier to trace a paper copy back to the original digital record on Mercurie.
Commonly spoken words: if the speech recognition system is not able to recognize certain phrases from your voice, such as certain medication brand names, you may help it by specifying the phrase, and optionally a description of the phrase to help it understand the context where the phrase would fit.
Click on the 'Update' button at the bottom to save your changes.
