Running a telehealth consult
Start a video or phone consult, let it auto-record, and receive a structured note in your inbox without lifting a pen.
Mint a video room
From the patient's chart or your Schedule, click the Start video consult action. Mercurie creates a private 100ms-backed room, generates per-role join codes, and shows the patient a Join video consult button on their appointments page. Both of you join through the in-app prebuilt — no separate app install.
Rooms are India-region by default (Mumbai SFU) for low-latency on Indian connections. Cross-border patients route automatically.
Phone consults
Click Place callon the patient chart. Mercurie dials the patient's number through your clinic's purchased line; once they answer, the call bridges to your phone (the number you set as your appointment line in your provider profile). Both legs are recorded.
If the patient's phone is missing or you haven't set an appointment line yet, the action surfaces a clear error rather than a silent failure.
Recording is automatic
Every consult records the moment the first peer joins — you don't click any record button. The patient sees the same recording notice you do (consent before joining). Recording stops when the consult ends.
Both video and phone consults capture both sides of the conversation. The audio routes into the same scribe pipeline as in-person dictations.
Note review
Within a few minutes of the consult ending, an AI-generated draft note lands in your scribe queue. Open it, edit anything that needs adjusting (the conversational diff is highlighted), and Save it as a preliminary note. Finalize when ready — that locks the note and makes it visible to the patient. The underlying audio drops out of memory once processed.
The note format follows whichever template you picked in Prescription Settings. Structured consultation, narrative, prescription-only — your call.
Billing
Telehealth carries a per-minute charge (call cost + recording cost) that's pre-checked against your monthly budget. If a consult would breach the budget, Mercurie refuses to start the call rather than running you into an over-charge.
View the per-minute rates and your remaining budget in Billing. Topping up an existing plan keeps consult capability live without interruption.
Tip: Tell the patient at the start of the consult that you'll be reviewing the AI-drafted note before saving. It puts them at ease about how the recording is used.
If a recording fails to ingest (rare), you'll see a flag on the appointment row and can re-run scribe with a manual upload as a fallback.
